- The location of this research was purposefully chosen, which located in Lombok Kulon Village, Wonosari District, Bondowoso Regency. The time of the research was held in July to August 2018. The purpose of this research was to 1) Know the characteristics of farmers which in the term of age, sex, education level (formal and informal), experience, income, extensive land investment and social environment. 2) Knowing the perceptions of organic rice farmers in Lombok Kulon Village, Wonosari District, Bondowoso Regency about the opportunities and threats in the global market. 3) Analyze differences between farmer characteristics and perceptions of organic rice farmers in the global market. The sample taken was on 76 farmers based on the Slovin formula. This research is a quantitative descriptive statistical study by using the Kendall Tau correlation trial. The instrument for data collection was taken by documentation, questionnaires, and direct observation. The Research results obtain 1) Perception of farmers about the threats and opportunities in the global market is good enough, regarding by the high average score of 42. 2) Formal education, informal education, experience, income, and social environment has the correlation to farmers' perceptions of threats and opportunities in the global market. 3) The social environment is the factor that mostly influences farmers' perceptions of threats and opportunities in the global market by the value of 0.673 which can be considered as strongly correlated.
