- This research was conducted based on the problems found in the students from VIII class (eight grade) at Public Junior High School 1 Wonosari. The teacher still uses conventional learning model that makes the students having difficulty. They are having difficulty in communicating the mathematical idea by writing in solving the description problem, also the students are having low activity in learning. The purpose of this study are (1) Describing the implementation of thinking pair share model. (2) Describing the ability of students' written mathematical communication on thinking pair share learning model. (3) Describing the learning activity of the students on thinking pair share learning model. The type of this research was a descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approach. This research was conducted on 11 and 12 May 2018 at Public Junior High School 1 Wonosari in class VIII-F (eighth grade, F class) which amounted to 22 students. The data collection was through tests and observations. The result showed the implementation of thinking pair share learning model on mathematics learning has been done well in accordance with the planned syntax. The written mathematical communication capability in the think pair share learning model for each indicator at the first and second meeting gained a percentage above 70% which categorized as good. Student learning activity on think pair share learning model at first and second meeting have overall average equal to 68,19% which categorized as good.
