- In running a company, several factors are needed to support the goal of the company itself. The supporting factors in question are capital, natural, and labour factors. Of the three factors, it cannot be separated from one another. Among these three factors, the role of the workforce is as important as capital and natural factors. Without labor, the company cannot operate its business in order to realize a goal of the company itself. Because the labour factor is considered very important, efforts are needed to foster, direct, and provide protection for the labour to create labour welfare related to the type of work. Based on the description, the writer is interested in conducting a research entitled "Social Protection Against Work Safety of Sulfur Miners by PT. CandiNgrimbi in Ijen crater ofBanyuwangi", with the formulation of the problem is how the form of occupational safety protection for sulfur miners by PT. CandiNgrimbi in Ijen Crater of Banyuwangi and how to implement social protection for sulfur mining workers by the Regional Government. The method in conducting this research is descriptive qualitative. Descriptive qualitative approach is a phenomenology-based approach that produces descriptive data, usually the data is in the form of written data or derived from the oral of the people and the behavior of the object research, namely PT. CandiNgrimbi. The subject of this research is a good sulfur miner who works for the company either who has a work accident or not. The method used in data collection is by direct observation and interview. In the analysis method used qualitative data analysis. Forms of social protection at PT. Ngrimbi Temple includes providing work accident insurance, death insurance, and old age security. Work accident insurance and death insurance for all sulfur miners and transporters, while old age insurance is only for staff. Personal protective equipment for sulfur miners when carrying out their work in the form of oxygen masks, work shoes, gloves and supervision carried out by staff. This security protection attribute or personal protective equipment is only given to sulfur kitchen miners in the Ijen Crater and sulfur Kitchens, part of the process located in Blambangan Hamlet. Implementation of social protection from the Regional Government through BPJS Employment and BPJS Kesehatan to facilitate and carry out socialization socialization and health guidance on the dangers of sulfur (sulfurtara) smoke to sulfur miners and how to prevent it by using personal protective equipment. In the realization of social protection, PT. Ngrimbi Temple works with BPJS Employment and BPJS Kesehatan to facilitate each other from the administrative process to the implementation of the social security provided.
