- In the Jokowi’s era, Indonesia established maritime cooperation with China. In fact, previously there was a lot of friction between the two countries on the same problem. Therefore, researcher will try to find out what Indonesia's interest in cooperation with China in maritime area. To find the purpose in the thesis, it uses national interest theory and also bilateral cooperation concept. National interest theory divided into three categories, core values, middle-range objectives, and long range objectives. While the bilateral coorperation concept is a way that is carried out by the state to fulfill its interests that cannot be achieved by the state itself. The results of this study using the theory and concept where the two countries mutually benefit. Indonesia itself can fulfill its interests in carrying out this collaboration. This interest is that Indonesia can reduce the threat of violations committed by Chinese fishermen in the Indonesian sea.
