  • Academic procrastination is an individual’s tendency to avoid or postpone an academic task by doing other activities that are more enjoyable. Internal factors were suspected to be contributors to the tendency of the students to undertake academic procrastination. This was related to the variable of internal locus of control which became individual belief as holders of control over whatever happens to him/her. The purpose of this study was to find out the contribution of the internal locus of control to academic procrastination in students. The method use in this research was correlational quantitative research and there were 146 students as sample. The result showed that the contribution of the internal locus of control to academic procrastination was 7,5% (R2 = 0.075).
