- Communication technology in the form of this smartphone is the most unique and interesting in its use. In that case, technological developments can change the way social interaction of individuals who use them. The meant here is not the computer, the user, or the users of two different places, but someone who can communicate through the smartphone media. This study focuses on the behavior of adolescents who use smartphones in the social environment. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive approach type. Subjects used in this study are teenagers who own and use smartphones. The results of this study showed that the use of smartphones in teenagers can be done anywhere. In terms of time, adolescents also have no limit in using smartphonenya. The advantages of using a smartphone by teenagers is to find out information and can contact his friends. Teens also use social media with friends, if the phone and sms more teens to their parents. Adolescents prefer chat or social media content. Teens use smartphones for social media, phone and sms, play games, and also browse. The conclusion of this research, that adolescent behavior in using smartphone more passive with social environment, because they are very active in using smartphone in everyday life.
