- In order to improve the work productivity and labor prosperity to support the success of national development, the government has been taking a policy on the improvement of City Minimum Wage (CMW) which is increasing every year. The increase of CMW is done by noticing the components of living standard, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the ability and capability of company, labor market conditions, and the level of economic development as well as income per capita. The implementation of CMW will never be reached without the supervision of Manpower Department in each region. Therefore, the role of Manpower Department is required to supervise the implementation of CMW especially in Serang City. The purpose of this research was conducted in describing the role of Manpower Department to implement WMC in Serang City. Hence, this research employed qualitative method with descriptive type of research. The data collection technique was done by interview, observation and documentation. The subject of this research involved the agencies of Serang City’s Manpower Department. Further, the data analysis technique in this research was using interactive model of Miles and Huberman which involved data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. After doing data presentation and analysis, the finding showed that the supervision of Serang City’s Manpower Department was very determining towards the implementation of CMW in Malang City. The supervision mechanism was conducted in the form of inspection, inspection report, violation’s follow-up (including: warning and briefing), investigation as well as punishment. These mechanisms were conducted by Serang City’s Manpower Department parties integrally. The integrated mechanism supervision was focusing on the preventive and repressive supervision, thus the implementation of CMW in Serang City experienced an improvement. Therefore, all companies that were registered in the classification of Indonesia’s business field of Serang City’s Manpower Department were implementing CMW.
