  • This study aims to determine the effect of adding coconut water and glycerol to the motility and viability of sperm koi fish (Cyprinus carpio) and the best treatment on sperm storage of showa koi fish. This research was conducted for 45 days at Punten Freshwater Cultivation Installation - Malang. This experiment used a completely randomized factorial pattern (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P1: 750μl coconut water, P2: 500μl coconut water and 250μl gilserol, P3: 375μl coconut water and 375μl glycerol, P4: 250μl coconut water and 500μl glycerol, P5: 750μl glycerol. Then the sperm is stored at a low temperature (4 °C) with a gradual drop in temperature. Observation of sperm motility was carried out using sperm cell dilution using physiological NaCl and for the viabilitian calculation the researcher used eosin 2% with the smear method. Observations were carried out under a microscope with 400x magnification. The results showed that the addition of coconut water and glycerol to sperm storage had a significant effect on the motility and viability of sperm koi fish and sperm survived 96 hours of storage, but the longer motility and viability would decrease. After analysis of variance, the results obtained are F count treatment, F count the length of time and, F Calculate interaction greater than F table 0.05 and greater than F table 0.01. So that further testing with the smallest real difference was carried out and the best results for sperm storage on motility and sperm viability of koi fish were found in treatment P3 with an average motility scale of 96 - 5.00 with very good criteria, sperm able to move forward and very active, and the average viability is 87.38%.
