- In order to address the energy crisis, several experts have developed a variety of alternative energies, one of which is bio-pellets. Bio-pellets of rice husk are alternative energy which can be one solution to overcome the energy crisis in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to identify the drying temperature and the percentage of adhesive on rice husk pellets to determine the optimal combination of rice husk pellets. In this study an experimental method was used to combine husks with variations in the percentage of adhesive 10%, 15%, and 20% then the husks and adhesives that had been mixed into dough were printed using a vertical type pellet molding machine. After that the pellets are dried using an oven with a temperature of 90oC, 100oC, and 110oC. The results of this study show that the smaller the percentage of adhesive given, the longer the combustion time will be and the higher the drying temperature will make the rice husk pellets burn faster because the water content in the pellets will be lower. While the most optimal combination is a pellet using 10% adhesive percentage and dried at a temperature of 110oC.
