- Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus) is one of freshwater fish in Borneo which has the potential to be developed because it has high economic value. Efforts to satisfy the needs of papuyu fish consumption that relies on the catch of nature, making its presence in nature continues to shrink. Sperm storage aims to prolong the duration of a superior male parent spermatozoa to fertilize an artificial female egg of the same kind. In addition also to facilitate the spread of sperm transport to areas in need. During storage time, spermatozoa require energy that can support its life so that once the energy in the body runs out then the spermatozoa requires the intake of nutrients from the outside as energy. Nutrients with high levels of glucose and fructose are needed as energy reserves for sperm. Honey is one of the foods that have simple sugars such as fructose and glucose. Rubber tree flower contain honey with a simple sugar which higher than most types of honey. The total sugar content in the rubber tree flower’s honey is 72.6%. The aim of this study were: (1) to determine the effect of the addition of the rubber tree flower’s honey extract in NaCl physiology to viability and motility of spermatozoa of Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus) during storage period (2) to know the difference of each addition of honey flower concentration of different rubber trees In physiological NaCl to viability and motility of spermatozoa of Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus) This research used experimental method. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL). In the treatment, the diluent solution is prepared by using honey dissolved in physiological NaCl (hereinafter called dilution solution). The percentage variation of honey in diluted solution used is 0.3%; 0.6%; 0.9%; And 1.2%. Concentration of diluent solution in% units is equivalent to ml / 100ml. The results showed that sperm fish storage of papuyu (Anabas testudineus) used honey and NaCl. Physiologically significant effect on motility and no significant effect on survival (viability) of spermatozoa of papuyu fish. The percentage of spermatozoa motility of papuyu fish was best found in P2 (0.6% honey and 99.4% NaCl) and P3 (0.9% honey and 99.1% NaCl) of 62.27% and 62.42% at 4 Hour of storage. The percentage of viability of papuyu fish spermatozoa was best found in P4 (1.2% honey and 98.8% NaCl) ie 83.15% at 2 hours storage, while at 4 hours the best storage was P4 also with a viability percentage of 71.36%.
