PERBANDINGAN SLOW STROKE BACK MASSAGE SAAT DENGAN SEBELUM PERIODE MENSTRUASI TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI DISMENORE PRIMER PADA MAHASISWI RUSUNAWA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG

- Background: Adolescence is a transitional process from childhood to adulthood to be characterized by maturation and puberty so that physical, hormonal, sexual and sexual menstrual changes are experienced. Menstruation is a process of releasing of endometrium accompanied by cyclic bleeding and adolescence will often experience menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea caused by spastic uterine muscles that occur in the lower abdomen and back, usually feels like cramps, one way to reduce dysmenorrheal pain by giving Slow Stroke Back Massage. Preliminary study result conducted by students in Rusunawa (rental flat for student) as many as 8 out of 10 who experienced dysmenorrhea pain. Research Method: Research design used in this research was Quasi-Experimental Pre-Post Two-Group Design that aims to find out the comparison of Slow Stroke Back Massage during and before Menstrual Period towards pain reduction of primary dysmenorrhea. Respondents in this research were students in Rusunawa at University of Muhammadiyah Malang by purposive sampling technique using NRS (Numerical Rating Scale). Result: The results showed that the average difference in pain reduction in the group during menstrual period 2.85 with 40 respondents, and the average difference in pain reduction in the group before menstrual period 1.22 in the same 40 respondents. The comparative calculation conducted with Independent Sample T-test showed p-value 0.000 <0,05 with t-value of 6,174> t-table 1,991 then H1 accepted because there is a comparison of slow stroke back massage during and before the menstrual period. Conclusion: There is a comparison in slow stroke back massage during and before menstrual period towards pain reduction of primary dysmenorrhea on students in Rusunawa at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang.
