- The aim in this study is to examine the influence of the shape of the electrodes and the concentration of the substance used, as well as predicting the amount of gas produced during the process of electrolysis. Electrolysis is a method of modifier compounds constituents of water (H_2O) into hydrogen (H_2) and oxygen (O_2). Factors that affect the production of hydrogen and oxygen during the process of electrolysis is the concentration of the electrolyte solution and the surface area of the electrode, so the concentration of the solution and the surface area of the electrodes becomes free and variable amount of gas the resulting variable is bound in this research. The electrode being used that is stainless steel and the electrolyte solution used is a solution of KOH. The research results obtained the most amount of gas production that is contained on the spiral electrode with concentration of 12%. So that the amount of gas produced during the process of electrolysis on spiral electrode can be predicted by the regression equation Y =-14.392 + 25, 214X for hydrogen gas and Y =-5.926 + 13, 677X for oxygen.
