- Mathematics is a science that deals with abstract structures. There are still many students who have difficulty understanding the concept of plane geometry that includes the properties, surface area and volume. Students also feel bored working on practice questions that are presented in a less attractive form, for example a picture that is still black and white on a piece of paper. Furthermore, it is necessary to develop learning media in the form of educational games that are expected to be able to motivate learning and make it easier for students to understand the concept of plane geometry. The method used in this study uses research and development (R & D), which is designed through six stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, product revision and product testing. The subject of this study was limited to 12 grade VIII students of Muhammadiyah 2 Innovation Malang with high, medium, and low mathematics abilities. The research instrument used in the form of interview sheets and questionnaire sheets covering two aspects, namely validity and student response test. Based on the results of media validation, the average rating of media validators from software engineering aspects of 3.33 was categorized as valid and visual communication aspects of 3.16 were categorized as valid. Furthermore, the results of the material validator from the design aspects of learning media by 3.2 are categorized as valid and visual communication aspects by 3.4 are categorized as valid. The response of students with low mathematics ability to the media developed was 3.18 for the evaluation media design aspect, 3.08 for the evaluation media usage aspect, 3.16 for the entertainment education aspect and 3.37 for the achievement desire desire aspect. The response of students with moderate mathematics ability to the media developed was 3.43 for evaluation media design aspects, 3.66 for aspects of the use of evaluation media, 3.08 for aspects of entertainment education and 3.56 for aspects of desire desire for achievement. The response of students with high mathematics ability to the media developed was 3.43 for the evaluation media design aspects, 3.25 for the evaluation media usage aspect, 3.33 for the entertainment education aspect and 3.18 for the achievement desire desire aspect. It can be concluded from the results of the study that the educational media game developed is suitable for use in learning because it meets the valid categories of 2 validators and gets good responses from 3 categories of students based on their mathematical abilities.
