- South Korea has now begun to recognize the world in recent years through the success of the South Korean government in managing its entertainment world which is proven by the increasing economy of South Korea. When we are discussing about South Korea we can’t be separated from korean wave discussion which is a term for the wave of South Korean culture which is now korean waves are globalizing. But the peak of success of this Korean Wave turned out to be a separate task for the government to maintain the existence of culture. The new step taken by the government is trying to get closer to people from other countries, especially Indonesia in Malang by establishing Korean Center for the dissemination of its culture that is people to people. In this study the author uses the theory of soft power and the concept of cultural diplomacy to explain the formulation of the problem in this study. Both of these approaches successfully proved if the soft power and cultural diplomacy used by South Korea is successfully seen from statistic data of Malang society enthusiasts to all activities organized by Korean Center Inkobaragi.
