PERBANDINGAN EFEKTIVITAS POSITIONAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE DENGAN ISCHAEMIC COMPRESSION TERHADAP INTENSITAS NYERI MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINT PADA MUSCLE UPPER TRAPEZIUS
Daftar Isi:
- Background: Myofascial Trigger Points are conditions of hyper irritation and hypersensitivity that have a characteristic that is painful when pressed located on the taut band and a collection of signs and symptoms of one or more trigger points as the cause. Preliminary study results conducted with students of the Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang as many as 9 out of 15 students have experienced upper shoulder muscle pain. Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of positional release technique with ischaemic compression against the intensity of myofascial trigger point pain in muscle upper trapezius. Method: The design in this study is Quasi Experimental Pre-Post Two Group Design. Respondents in this study were students of Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang amounting to 40 people with purposive sampling technique using NRS. Result: The results of the study with the average difference in pain reduction in the group positional release technique 2.15 with 20 respondents, and the ischaemic compression group decreased pain with an average of 1.90 on 20 different respondents. Comparative calculation is done with Independent Sample T-test show result p value 0,025 <0,05 with t value 2,337> t table 1,677. Conclusion: There is a positional release technique comparison with ischaemic compression to the intensity of myofascial trigger point pain in upper muscle trapezius.
