  • This study aims to describe the application of the PJBL model with the RME approach to learning material data presentation, the influence of the PJBL learning model with the RME approach to problem solving skills and students' mathematical understanding. This research uses descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The object in this study is the application of the PJBL model with the RME approach. The data source is class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Lawang and researchers. Data is taken from observations and written tests in the form of descriptions to determine the problem solving abilities and mathematical understanding of students in the data presentation material. Data analysis techniques used through three stages of testing, namely the normality test data using a non parametric test analysis, homogeneity test using levene test analysis and hypothesis testing using t test analysis. The results showed that the application of the PJBL model with the RME approach to the data presentation material during the three-day learning process could be carried out and effectively seen from the teacher's activities and student activities previously made, there was an influence between the PJBL learning model and the RME approach to problem solving skills students and mathematical understanding.
