- The phenomenon of academic procrastination often occurs, so it has become a habit. It has been formed since childhood, one of them through parenting patterns that indirectly have an impact on children's learning processes, so that academic procrastination behavior created in students can also be indicated as a result of parenting from an early age. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting and academic procrastination on students. This research is a quantitative correlational research with cluster sampling technique,, which take subjects to students of 2015, 2016, and 2017 at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Malang with a research subject of 505 students. The measuring instrument used is the scale of student academic procrastination and the scale of parenting parents. The results of the research that have been conducted show that there is a relationship between parenting and academic procrastination. Parenting that has a significant relationship with academic procrastination is authoritative, authoritarian, and neglect parenting while permissive parenting does not have a significant relationship with academic procrastination (r = 0.125; p = 0.005)
