- The aim of this research is to know the effect of starter to total solid, volatile solid, total dissolved solid and volatile suspended solid in fermentation of coffee bark biogas with batch system and to find the best starter to improve the four content. This research was conducted from February to March 2018 at the Animal Husbandry Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University Malang. The material that will be used in this research is 84 gram / jurigen coffee skin waste which is divided into three types of starter treatment, ie nine parts is done with control (without starter) , nine parts using rumen filler starter, and nine parts using starterslurry. This research uses experimental method. The results of this study were the addition of rumen fluid to reduce the solid / total solid volatile content by 8% at week 6. The volatile suspended solid content also decreased with the addition of rumen fluid up to 134 mg / L at week 8 of the study. Whereas the addition of slurry can raise the content of Total Dissolved Solid which is useful for anaerobic process digesi up to 5,076 mg / L at week 8 of research. Conclusion The addition of starter to the digester can improve the total solid content, volatile solid, total dissolved solid and volatile suspended solid on fermented coffee bark biogas with batch system.
