- Dayak onion (E. palmifolia) is a multifunctional medicinal plants as an internal medication such as, treating diabetes mellitus, decreasing cholesterol, intestine cancer, acne and boil medication. Related to those problems, it is conducted a research to find out the influence of dayak onion lotion activity (E. palmifolia) on Propionibacterium acnes as bacteria inhibition zone as biology learning source. The research is aim to find out the influence of dayak onion lotion activity (E. palmifolia) on diameter of P. acnes inhibition zone done by using disk diffusion method. The type of this research was True Eksperimen Designusing Posstest-Only Control Design as a type of experimental design. In this research, it is used lotion with dayak onion extract for about 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and control treatment by using tetracycline 2%. Propionibacterium acnes bacteria sample is isolated on a media in order to make the blood and incubation turn to temperature 37o C for 24 hours and then each treatment had been done 4x. The influence result of dayak onion lotion on Propionibacterium acne bacteria inhibition zone with 95% ethanol as a solvent showed that dayak onion lotion activity (Eleutherin palmifolia) has an influence on Propionibacterium acnes bacteria inhibition zone, dayak onion lotion (Eleutherin palmifolia) with concentration 30% has optimum level so it is able to exceed the value of positive control. The average diameter formed is 12,0mm; 12,1 mm; 16,0 mm; 21,6 mm; 24,5 mm; and control (+) 29,1 mm. The concentration result of the best lotion of dayak onion extract is on concentration 30% with diameter of inhibition zone for about 24,57 mm. This research can be used as learning source of curriculum 2013 in Senior High School X class of odd semester, there is Basic Curriculum (KD) 3.4 learning material Archaebacteria and Eubacteria biology subject.
