- The amount of green open space that is very worrying in some areas, especially in the city of Malang, is something very interesting to examine. Based on several laws and regulations, all urban areas in Indonesia are required to have a 30% green open space and then the proceeds are divided into 20% for public green open spaces and private green open spaces. In order to follow up on this obligation, based on the Malang City Regulation No. 4 of 2011, the Regional Government of Malang City made an effort to add a number of green open spaces and use a number of Government assets to be used as green open spaces. There are several policies that have been determined and the Regional Government of Malang City is targeting that this will be completed in 2030. So far there have been concrete steps taken by the City Government of Malang and although there have been pros and cons in the middle of this development process, effort to date it still continues in accordance with existing policies and legislation.
