  • Background: The elderly is a degenerating process of body’s capability to conform into the circumstances and start in the middle age of elderly or the early age of elderly at 45 years old. During the aging process, it will change the physiology of each singleton such as loss of organs function, resistance to degenerative and metabolic disease risk (such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes mellitus). In addition, increased insulin resistance can cause a buildup of blood sugar levels. A buildup of blood sugar levels is one of the factors for blood sugar becomes viscous (viscosity). In this study, the insulin cannot work properly in giving a way to muscles that require glucose. In spite of, the blood vessel is becoming thick and the length of blood vessel so as to the blood pressure is increase because the flow of blood is not running perfectly from various factors. As a result, a heart pumps harder to make blood flow around the body. The Method of Research: The research design was conducted by means of Cross Sectional by using 55 people as research sample. The sample was taken by utilizing Purposive Sampling technique based on inclusion criteria to acquire the research data. Result: The research result using Product Moment Correlation Test and showed the score of Sig (2-tailed) is bigger than alpha (0.000 < 0.05), it means H0 rejected and there is a significant correlation between blood glucose level and blood pressure in elderly.
