- This research is based on the rapid development of Islamic da'wah using social media Youtube. This research tries to capture the reception of the audience towards the film Cinta Fisabilillah. Cinta Fisabilillah is an Islamic Da'wah movie created by Daqu Movie. Daqu Movie which is a da'wah production house which collaborate Ustad Yusuf Mansyur. Cinta Fisabilillah is a film that highlight about interaction between men and women in everyday life. In addition this film then raised the emergence of feelings of love in their interactions. The film also spotlight homosexual abnormalities and how to react with it. Cinta Fisabilillah is one of the best Islamic movies in its era. Therefore, researchers interested with the topic of reception analysis in this film. How the filmmaker is encoding the message to be conveyed and packed in a movie da'wah then captured and decoded by the audience. This research is a qualitative research by utilizing the reception analysis. The first step in this research is researcher watched 14 episodes of Cinta Fisabilillah film, then the film was distributed to the audience for reception analysis by the audience. The audience is divided into 3 groups (low, middle, and high in understanding about men and women interaction in religious) . The grouping of viewers based on the understanding of religion is done by interviewing and looking at the educational background and how the audience understands the interaction of men and women in Islam. After grouping the respondents, to conduct a reception analysis, the researchers collected data through interviews of grouped audience, audience observation of the film and literature reading to crosscheck the film content and the Islamic aspects of the film's selling value. Data analysis from this research is done through 3 stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Testing the truth in this film is done by triangulation and informant checking. The results of this study then we can conclude that the audience reception of this film is diverse and different from each other. The biggest factor that led to differences in reception was the religious understanding of the audience. Audiences with lower-middle class religious group tend to enjoy the film and accept the interaction of men and women that occur therein. While subjects with middle-upper religious understanding tend to criticize the interactions that occur in this film. However, this film managed to equalize the reception in the audience in dealing with homosexual cases. The audience has the same reception that homosexuals are a curable disorder. This study successfully proves Stuart Hall's decoding encoding model where the receptions captured by the audience will depend heavily on the background and understanding and social status of the receptive object. In this research, the background and social factors are the factors of understanding the religion of the respondents.
