- Rabbits become popular in the community not to be nurtured but as processed food and even to profitable side businesses. With the development of rabbit farms, it is necessary to consider the presence of skin diseases caused by ectoparasites. Ectoparasites are parasites which live on the host's body. Rabbits health needs to be considered considering that ectoparasites in rabbits can have a very bad impact on the breeders and their rapid breeding. Ectoparasites can also cause losses in the form of weight loss, hair loss, decreased production, irritation, anemia, and death. The purpose of this research was to determine the type of ectoparasites and differences in prevalence found in rabbits in Splendid Malang City and in Unggul Rabbit Farm of Batu City as a learning resource for the biology of 10th grade. The study was divided into three stages, phase I was to take ectoparasites and calculate the number of ectoparasites that had been found to calculate the prevalence, stage II was making animal wholemount preparations, stage III was identification. The type of research used is descriptive research with random sampling technique. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to process observational data in the form of ectoparasites and their morphology, while quantitative analysis is used to calculate the prevalence formula. The results of the research based on morphological identification from both place Splendid, Malang City and Unggul Rabbit Farm in Batu City found male and female mites with the same species namely, Leporacarus gibbus. The prevalence results for Splendid, Malang City is 30% of the 10 samples examined there are 3 local angora rabbits are infected with ectoparasites mites and the prevalence results for Unggul rabbit farm is 80% of the 10 sample examined there are 8 local angora rabbits infected with ectoparasites mites. The result of this research can be used as a Biology learning resource of 10th grade in the form of student worksheets.
