- Mangrove forest which has a primary function as a deterrent to abrasion, protection against wind, preventing seawater intrusion, and as an energy producer. Mangrove recent years many converted to non-forest lands, such as agriculture and fisheries. It is therefore necessary rescue efforts mangrove forest, one of them through the development of ecotourism. This research aims to develop ecotourism potential of mangrove forests in the Village of West Oesapa. This study was conducted in March 2018 until May 2018 and is housed in the Village of West Oesapa, District Kelapa Lima, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, this research uses a descriptive method with instruments such as eco-tourism development and study of literature. To know the strategies using SWOT analysis. The study results mangrove ecotourism potential in the Village of West Oesapa find the highest power is the factor of the environment surrounding the appeal of mangrove and weaknesses namely, the tourism management in Mangrove forest ecotourism Oesapa Village West. The main opportunities that exist in the form factor of the amount of supporting the development of eco-tourism, while the main threats are environmental degradation and lack of public awareness about environmental.
