  • Background : Bus driver is the type of work in the informal sector which has an impairment of health risk, one of them is the lower back pain . The lower back pain is pain resulting from disruption of the musculoskeletal which is in the local pain or spread. One of the causes is a position of employment who due to their fault and sat down which is too long . Research Methodology : The method that used in this study is an observational method with a cross sectional approach or describe the relation between driver’s position and working duration, with the lower back pain of the intercity bus driver at Malang . This research was conducted from May 10th – May 15th, 2018 in Arjosari bus station (n=60). This research is using spearman test as data analysis test. Result : The analysis result of the employement’s sitting position with soreness of the lower back is 0,00 or sign (2-tailed) < 0,05, which means that there oss a correlation between a position of employment to the pain of the lower back. The results of the analysis between Sitting Duration to the pain of the lower back is 0,256 or sign (2-tailed) > 0,05. It shows that there is no correlation between Sitting Duration to the pain of the lower back . The result of sign (2-tailed) from analysis of working position and sitting duration to low back pain risk factor is 0,00, it shows that sign (2-tailed) < 0,05. It means that there is a correlation between position of employment and sitting duration with the risk of lower back pain. Conclusion : There are relations between position of employment and duration of workings with low back pain on the intercity bus driver.
