PENGARUH LATIHAN SINGLE LEG HOP KOMBINASI PLANK TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KECEPATAN PADA PEMAIN BASKET SMA NEGERI 9 MALANG

- Background: In a basketball game there is a change in speed, type of movement, and jump that occurs during the game. The players must have a good speed and balance because in basketball the team must be able to be offensive quickly and must be ready to change into the defensive. However, to do the same rhythm in offensive and defensive it requires a quick-controlled movement. For obtaining this maximum speed, the player can be given the single leg hop combined with plank exercise. Objective: To determine the effect of single leg hop combined with plank exercise toward the speed improvement on basketball players at Senior High School 9 Malang. Research Methodology: This research used a quasi-experimental method with one group design pretest and posttest. A total of 26 respondents from basketball players at Senior High School 9 Malang. The sample consisted of one group and was given two different exercises combined which is single leg hop combined with plank and 30 m sprint was used as the speed measurement. The exercise is carried out for 4 weeks and 3 times a week. Result: the average increase in speed value before and after training was tested using paired t-test. The average increase in single leg hop combined with plank training was 43.885 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Therefore, the H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Conclusion: There is an impact from the single leg hop combined with plank training toward the speed improvement of basketball players at Senior High School 9 Malang.
