  • Background: Tabata Workout is a type of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) that consists of a wide variety of movements. Cardiorespiratory fitness can improved through practice. To determain cardiorespiratory fitness capacity can be seen through a VO2Max measurement using Harvard Step Test. Method:This research use quasi experimental method with non-randomized control group pre-test dan post-test design. This study was conducted for 2 weeks. Respondents in this study is students of Physiotherapy University of Muhammadiyah Malang were 59 respondents female divided into two groups. 30 respondents including control group and 29 respondents including intervention group with Tabata Workout. Data analysis using Paired-T Test and Independent-T Test. Result: Based on the calculation of paired t test, the value of sig.(2-tailed) in the intervention group 0.000 (p<0.05) then H1 is accepted, whereas in the control group the value of sig.(2-tailed) 0.973 (p>0.05) H1 is rejected. The calculation result of T-Independent test showed that the signification result between the two groups was 0.000 (p<0.05) there was a difference between the two groups. Conclusion: There is an increase in VO2Max after Tabata Workout intervention with average rating (62.8) higher than the average value before an tabata workout intervention (53.0) in the intervention group.
