  • Background: Diabetes mellitus type II, triglyceride level and FFA (free fatty acid) plasma increase due to decrease of triglyceride transport into the fat depot. Medicinal plants is believed safer to consume than synthetic medicines. The plant combination potentially as herbal medicine is Mangifera Indica (MI) and Abelmoschus esculentus (AE) that have the effect of antidiabetic and can decrease triglyceride levels in the plasma. Goal: This research aims to know the influence of ethanol leaves extract Mangifera indica and squeezed fruit Abelmoschus esculentus also optimum dosage to decrease triglyceride level on Rattus norvegicus. Method: This research uses the post test only control group design method with 36 Rattus norvegicus divided in 6 groups that 3 control groups (positive, negative, healthy) and 3 treatment groups (1, 2, 3). The research time for 30 days. Triglyceride level measurement uses spectrophotometer semi-automatic analyzer then data analysis method is by one way anova. Result and Conclusion: The result shows that the ethanol leaves MI extract dosage of 125 mg/ kgBB, 250 mg/ kgBB, and 500 mg/ kgBB combined with squeezed fruit AE 0,36ml / 200g BB gives the effects to decrease triglyceride level in the diabetes rat. Optimum dosage to decrease triglyceride level is in giving ethanol leaves MI extract dosage of 500 mg / kgBB and squeezed fruit AE 0,36ml / 200g BB.
