  • Fertilizer is one component of the production factor of a farm. Continuous use of artificial fertilizers can cause pollution of water sources which means a decrease in environmental quality. One way to reduce the use of artificial fertilizers is to use biological fertilizers. However, agricultural land contains osmotic stresses which can hinder the effectiveness of biological fertilizers. On the other hand, biofertilizers require special treatment so that sellers can store them before they are sold to farmers. Based on these problems, this research is aimed at testing the growth of Bradyrhizobium japonicum in osmotic stress conditions and the relationship between the type of packaging and the storage temperature of the quality of biological fertilizer Bradyrhizobium japonicum. This research was using the Split Plot method which was randomly arranged (RBD) repeated three times. The main plot is the difference in temperature of storing biofertilizer Bradyrhizobium japonicum dense and subplot is the difference in solid fertilizer packaging of Bradyrhizobium japonicum. The collected data is analyzed in stages according to the research objectives. The parameters of the number of bacteria were analyzed using anova and tested further using the Duncant test with a level of 5%. The results showed that Bradyrhizobium japonicum was resistant to 0.5M NaCl osmotic stress. The packaging and temperature test for Bradyrhizobium japonicum showed that the temperature affected the resistance of the bacteria to remain alive for 30 days of the storage process.
