  • Basically education aims to develop the intellectual potentials and character of learners. The main study in this research is Implementation of Strengthening Religious Character Education at SMPN 1 Tabalar Berau District of East Kalimantan. The objectives are: (1) How is the concept / blue print of Islamic Education in Strengthening Religious Character Education at SMPN 1 Tabalar, Berau District, (2) How Implementation of Strengthening Religious Character Education at SMPN 1 Tabalar, Berau District. (3) How Implementation of Islamic religious education in the formation of religious character in SMPN 1 Tabalar Berau District. This research uses qualitative approach with case study research type. The collected data is analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, verification and triangulation. From the result of the research, the researcher concludes that: (1) The concept of blue print of Islamic education in religious KDP in SMPN 1 Tabalar is done by (a) integrating in school curriculum, (b) done through class management, (c) (d) through thematic and literacy learning, (e) through counseling and guidance services, (2) Implementation of the KDP in SMPN 1 Tabalar is done by school-based culture, (3) Implementation of PAI in the formation of religious character is done with a scientific approach that is: observing, asking, reasoning, trying and communicating using the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model. The researcher advises (1) educators and education personnel that the planting of religious characters in schools requires cooperation from various parties, (2) the principal, that building religious characters in schools requires the applicative support of the principal to guide and exemplify all citizens schools include, educators, education personnel and students.
