  • Ti6Al4V Titanium Alloy is one of the titanium that is often used as a biomedical material because it is biomechanical and has better biocompatibility properties. Heat treatment and holding time followed by quenching process using several cooling media resulted different hardness when the material tested with hardness testing. Maximum hardness found in specimens with water cooling media with average value of 842.92 VHN, and the minimum hardness found in specimens with air cooling media that has 809.91 VHN hardness value. Furthermore, on microstructure, testing using SEM obtained α (bright) and β (dark) phases and specimens with water cooling media resulting more α phase with 11.0761% percentage than others. As of the specimen with water cooling media has higher and better hardness value that suitable for biomedical applications.
