AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETIL ASETAT BUAH Cerbera manghas L. TERHADAP Propionibacterium acnes DENGAN METODE DIFUSI CAKRAM

- Background: Cerbera manghas L. fruit containing flavonoid, saponin, and steroid which has activities as antibacterial. Objective: the aim of the study was to observe the antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate extract from Cerbera manghas L. fruit showed by the diameter of inhibition zone and data compound classes there is contained in ethyl acetate extract of Cerbera manghas L. fruit. Method: the method used to know the antibacterial activity is disc diffusion methods. There was 3 steps will be doing on this research, first step was extraction process. Cerbera manghas L. fruit powders extracted with ethyl acetate solvent using maceration methods. Second step was doing an identification process of secondary metabolite compounds. Third step was doing an antibacterial activity. The concentration of ethyl acetate Cerbera manghas L. fruit extract which used was 50 mg/ml, 100 mg/ml and 200 mg/ml. Disc that was contained solution test, negative control (DMSO 1% + aquadest sterile) and positive control (clindamycin 2 μg), put on the medium MHA surface which contained Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, then incubated on 37oC for 24 hours and measured of diameter inhibition zone. Result and Conclusions: the result of compound classes identification was showing an extract of ethyl acetate Cerbera manghas L. fruits were containing alkaloid, flavonoid, terpenoid/steroid, polifenol and tannin. The result of antibacterial activity that was ethyl acetate Cerbera manghas L. fruit extract in which the diameter inhibition zone that was obtained, the concentration 4000 μg/disc was 7.58 mm, 8000 μg/disc was 8.43 mm and 16000 μg/disc was 11.53 mm.
