- Cover dance is a new phenomenon among the K-Pop lovers community. Dance cover is a dance that imitates their idols (including clothes, models and hair color, choreography of idol music groups to totality). This phenomenon caused a lot of cover dance community to emerge, one of them was the Shappire Blue Squad Community (SBSquad) in Malang City. Based on this explanation, the purpose of this study was to find more data about the representation of roleplayers in the study cover dance at the Shappire Blue Squad Community in Malang City. The research method used is qualitative, with a phenomenological type of research. Phenomenology is a type of qualitative research that examines the understanding of how everyday, intersubjective (the world of life) is. The technique of determining subjects using purposive sampling. The analysis in this study uses the Representation theory of Stuart Hall. Findings from this study are: The form of the representation of cover dance can be seen from the activities of meaning production such as training, participating in competitions, job offers, projects making cover dance uploaded to social media. Its influence on the perpetrators of roleplay resulted in a new identity and changed the hobby into a profession. Roleplay in cover dance reinforces the identity of the actors and the community as a group of K-Pop fans who create closeness to idols as a fanatical form.
