- This thesis examines the students awareness of muhammadiyah University of malang (UMM) toward consumer protection rights over halal food related to the effectiveness of law constitution number 33 of the year 2014 article 3 letter a of the warranty of the product is halal. This research aims to find out how and factor endowments and a barrier to student awareness of muhammadiyah University of malang (UMM) toward consumer protection rights over halal food. This research method using qualitative approach method field (Socio Legal Research), researchers conduct research by way of spreading the questionnaire and conduct the interview directly to some of the respondents who considered doubt over the questionnaire responses to discover the facts of the case. The results showed that the knowledge of students about the purpose of the passage of Act No. 33 of the year 2014 to protect muslim consumer is 66.3% of the total number of responses to the questionnaire 92 students. Students who understand the JPH ACT amounted to 53.7%, and adhering to prioritize halal food only in the amount of 50%. It showed that lack of awareness of the importance of student consumption of halal food. factors supporting students in awareness is the role of the family, had a positive community, and educational factors, while being a student awareness of the obstacles is the absence of socialization which is periodically terkonsep from the Government and not the existence of the monitoring of the Government whether the society has been to observe and understand the existence of the JPH ACT is to protect the muslim consumers.
