  • Environmental issues is one of the problems that could not have most of the attention from people in this modern era. Lembaga Pariwisata dan Pecinta Alam Mahasiswa Islam (LEPPAMI) is one kind of the organizations that actively engaged in the environmental issues, especially in nature conservation’s movement. From the researcher’s understanding of the ethics of biocentrism, which explains the concept of nature preservation and considers that human beings, nature, and other living beings are unity in a large circle of life in the universe, the researcher examined the ethics of biocentrism as the participatory motivator of the LEPPAMI’s style of movement. This research uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, where it requires the researcher to be involved directly and actively in a series of activities followed by LEPPAMI. The result of this research is the ethics of biocentrism has many similarities with the basic principles of LEPPAMI which underlies their movement and their activities institutionally. It can be seen from the statutes and bylaws of LEPPAMI mentioned that in carrying out an environmentally-based movement, LEPPAMI have to inculcate the idea that nature and all the living beings, including human beings, are equal moral holder so that LEPPAMI is institutionally involved in activities of environmental conservation, whether as an organizer or as a mere participant.
