- The development of the Kariangau Industrial Area located in the coastal area of Balikpapan has contours with varying elevations and it form as a slope. After analyzing of slope stability, it found SF of 1.49 and 1.66 at 2 point slices. As the utility of the land of the logistics base which is loaded with oil tanks and access road, the slope should be in the form of a slope with a slope of 2: 1. After calculation of the stability of the slope obtained SF of 1.08 < 1.5 and 1.23 < 1.5, then the slope is required soil reinforcement. The reinforcement of soil is used cantilever wall for trap 1 and gabion baskets retaining wall for trap 2. After calculating of SF, it found that SF of sliding: 2.89, SF of overturning: 3.15, SF of bearing capacity: 2.64 and SF of sliding :1.72, SF of overturning: 5.53, SF of bearing capacity: 3.6. From Calculations of gabion baskets retaining wall obtained SF of sliding value:1.75, SF of overturning: 7.65, SF of bearing capacity: 5.59 and also SF of sliding:1.52, SF of overturning: 3.02, SF of bearing capacity: 7.75 at second point of slices analyses.
