  • The need for bananas every year is always increasing. According to the Indonesian Statistics Agency for Fruit and Vegetable Crops in 2014-2015, the bauh pisang product reached 6,862,567 tons in 2014 and 7,299,275 tons in 2015. The abundance of banana production resulted in a decrease in price, even damage and decay , due to the abundance of bananas. Special handling is needed, one of which is to be used as industrial processed ingredients such as banana flour, banana juice, banana jam, bananas in syrup, banana dodol, and banana chips that can increase economic added value and have a longer shelf life. The need for bananas as industrial processing raw materials, both medium and large scale, requires fruits that have good quality and uniformity in size, age, fruit type, which will provide quality products, so that the products produced are acceptable by domestic and foreign communities. The effort taken to obtain quality and uniform banana seeds is by using In Vitro culture techniques. Propagation of bananas in In Vitro culture is one of the stages of activities aimed at making the quality of seeds produced by uniforms and seeds can be mass produced. The growth and development of explants (seeds) in In Vitro culture techniques are influenced by macro nutrients, micro nutrients, vitamins, amino acids, sucrose, compacting agents and growth regulating substances in the media, Aisyah (2017). The addition of growth regulators (ZPT) in tissue culture media, especially in the multiplication of bananas is an important component in the process of growth and development of explants. Two very important types of growth regulating substances are cytokines and auxins. Shinta (2017) states that administration of cytokines with auxin in culture medium can stimulate cell division and morphogenesis. According to Yudha (2015) the use of NAA growth regulators with a concentration of 1.5 mg / l added with BAP with concentrations of 5 mg / l produced the highest number of shoots with an average of 3.75 shoots. Based on Ernawati (2005) stated that explants of Raja Bulu banana produce the most micro shoots on media containing BAP 7 mg / l + IAA 3 mg / l which is 7 shoots. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The ingredients used are one Raja Bulu Kuning banana variety and two types of BAP Growing Substances (Benzyl Amino Purine) and NAA (Nafthalene Acetic Acid) with 16 (sixteen) treatments, 2 (two) replications, each replication consisting of 3 sample, the total sample is 96 bottles, with each bottle containing 1 explant of Raja Bulu Kuning banana shoot. The results of this study indicate that the composition of growth regulators BAP and NAA shows a very significant difference in the variable number of shoots, number of roots, height increase of shoots, diameter of shoots in yellow feather plantain in Vitro. The composition of BAP and NAA on the number of shoots which showed the best treatment was the use of BAP 2.5 composition added with 1.2 NAA which had an average of 5.33 although not significantly different from BAP 2.0 added with NAA 1.3 which has an average of 3.33.
