  • Background: Citrus reticulata fruit peel is proved to inhibit the growth of Stapylococcus aureus bacteria, the compounds responsible for antibacterial activity are favonoid, alkaloids, polyphenols, and anthrides. Objective: The objective of this study was to look at the inhibitory zone of the Citrus reticulata fruit peel fraction on the growth of Stapylococcus aureus bacteria with various concentrations. Methods: Antibacterial activity test was performed using a disk diffusion method. The n-hexane fraction used in this study was obtained from previous studies. Furthermore, the antibacterial activity test was performed. the concentration of fraction of n-hexane used 4000 μg; 8000 μg; 20.000 μg. The disc containing test solution, negative control and positive control were placed on the plate containing Stapylococcus aureus and MHA media, then incubated at 37C for 18 hours and the clear zone formed was measured in diameter. Results and Conclusions: The results of secondary metaabolid identification in previous studies showed pharkation of n-hexane Citrus reticulata fruit buds containing flavonoids, alkaloids, polyphenols and anthrons. Results of antibacterial activity of inhibitory zone diameter with concentration of 4000 μg; 8000 μg; 20.000 μg. is 11 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm. These results show the fracture of n-hexane skin of Citrus reticulata can inhibit the growth of Stapylococcus aureus bacteria seen from the clear zone around the blank disk.
