- Background: Blood pressure is the ability that the heart produces when contracts in pushing the blood to keep flowing throughout the body through the blood vessels. In elderly people, more than half the population has hypertension. Their physical activity is decreased due to impaired mobility. It can cause the elderly people experienced problems, such as cardiovascular. Lack of physical activity is the major risk factor for non-communicable diseases, namely hypertension, which is the 4th leading causes of death. Doing physical activity can stimulate endorphin hormone release which causes euphoria and muscle relaxation so that blood pressure control is always stable. Prevalence in Indonesia states that the population is still above the average lack of physical activity. Research method: The study design used Cross Sectional with a sample of 66 people taken by Total Sampling technique by measuring blood pressure used the Manual Sphygmomanometer and Stethoscope and giving a Physical Activities Scale of Elderly (PASE) questionnaire in research data collection. Results: The results of the study used the Chi-Square test obtained a significance value of 0.000 or (0.000 <0.005) this means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between physical activity with blood pressure in the elderly at Panti Malang.
