HUBUNGAN GAYA HIDUP TERHADAP TERJADINYA RISIKO HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS UNIT II KECAMATAN SUMBAWA

- Background: Elderly is a people who are aged more than 60 years. Elderly will experience various deterioration of organ functions, therefore elderly are easily to get disease such as hypertension. Hypertension happens if the systolic blood pressure is >140 mmHg and its diastolic is > 90 mmHg. Additionally, as the increasing of age, the increase of blood pressure in hypertension is more risky. Purpose: This research is aimed to find out the relationship between lifestyle towards hypertension risk in elderly of Puskermas Unit II Sub-District Sumbawa Area. Research Methodology: This research was employing cross sectional design which involves 75 respondents in sample. Furthermore, the data collection technique was conducted using purposive sampling with lifestyle and DASS questionnaire as a measuring instrument. Latterly, the obtained data was examined by using Kolmogorov-smirnov and Chi square test. Result: The calculation shows that dietary habit, smoking and stress is resulting the value of significance (0,000 < 0,050) which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, while the alcohol and caffeine consumption is resulting the value of significance (0,131 > 0,050) which means H1 is rejected and H0 is accepted. Whereas the sport calculation is resulting the value of significant (0,015 < 0,050) which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Conclusion: There is a relationship between dietary habit, smoking, sport, and stress towards hypertension risk in elderly of Puskesmas Unit II Sub-District Sumbawa and there is no relationship between alcohol and caffeine consumption towards hypertension risk in elderly of Puskesmas Unit II Sub-District Sumbawa.
