  • Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis is a bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is spread by airways. The main symptoms of pulmonary TB are cough with phlegm for two weeks or more. Treatment of tuberculosis is divided into category 1, category 2, child categories. Medicaton therapy of category 1 in intensive phase consists of HRZE given every day for 2 months, then continuation phase consist of HR given three times a week for 4 months. Objective: This Study is to discover the pattern of anti tuberculosis category 1 in pulmonary tuberculosis intensive phase patients in General Hospital Of Sidoarjo includes doses, types, routes, side effects and other things related to clinical data and patients’ laboratory data. Method: Observational with retrospective method period January 1, 2017 - 31, December 2017. Results and Conclusions: The mostly pattern of type anti tuberkulosis use is FDC anti tuberkulosis drugs in 27 patients (90%). The mostly used pattern of FDC anti tuberculosis drugs with the dosage (1x3 tablets) 4FDC in 17 patients (53%). The Pattern of anti tuberculosis drugs without antibiotics combination in 3 patients (100%). Combinations of anti tuberculosis drugs with other antibiotics of 38 patients, the most combination with the dosage (1x3 tablets) 4FDC in 23 patient is ampicillin (3x1g) IV in 5 patient (22%) The usage pattern of anti tuberculosis drugs using switch in 26 patients is the high percentage is ampicillin (3x1g) IV to ampicillin (3x1g) IV + (1x3 tablets) of 4FDC and cefaporazone sulbactam (3x1 g) IV to cefaporazone sulbactam (3x1 g) IV+ (1x3 tablets) of 4FDC each on 2 patients (7%).
