- Background: Candida albicans is funginormal if flora that lives in the human body. If can cause infections when grown excessively are the immunioty of the body be come securcase.In treating infectious diseases, the most common problem is resistance. Previous research suggests that Jatropha gossypifolia L has been shown to be anticonvulsant, antimicrobial, antidiarrheal, anti-cancer, cure uterine disease. Objective: The aims of this study is to obtain data of antifungal potency of ethanol extract of Jatropha gossypifolia L. to candida albicans fungus with disc diffusion method and to find compound in ethanol extract of jatropha gossypifolia fruit. Method: The method chemical to know the antifungal activity used diskdif the extract maceracy kinetically. Jatropha gossypifolia L fruit is extracted by polarity by utilizing ethanol as a solvent. Then, the identification of the compound and the antifungal activity test was performed using a disk diffusion method, concentrations of 200mg / ml, 100mg / ml, and 50mg / ml. Result and Conclusion: The test results using the disk diffusion method show that there is no antifungal activity. Positive control of 30 μg / ml nystatin suspension has 29.2 mm, 28.8 mm, and 25.7 mm inhibition zones. The compounds identified by the thin layer chromatography method are alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols and terpenoids.
