PERBANDINGAN PENGARUH CORE STRENGTHENING EXERCISE DENGAN YOGA EXERCISE TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI DISMENORE PADA SISWI-SISWI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 1 KOTA BATU

- Background: Dysmenorrhea is a gynecological complaint which commonly happens on teenage girl or young woman. Dysmenorrhea happens due to an imbalance of progesterone hormones which causes the increase of prostaglandin that leads excessive and prolonged contractions in the uterus. In line with the case, this research is aimed to compare the influence effectiveness between core strengthening exercise and yoga exercise in reducing dysmenorrhea on students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batu. Research Method: This research is applying quasi experimental design using two groups pretest and post-test design which is involving 64 respondents by using purposive sampling. In this research, there are two groups that is divided into two intervention groups. In addition, the obtained data is analyzed by using independent t-test. Result: The result of analysis by using paired t test on core strengthening exercise is obtained 0,000 significance value, while on yoga exercise is obtained 0,000 significance value. Whereas, the result of analysis by using independent t test between core strengthening and yoga exercise is obtained 0,001 significance value. Thus, significance value is (0,001) < 0,05 which means H0 is rejected. Therefore, this research found that there is significant differences between core strengthening exercise and yoga exercise in reducing dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: Both core strengthening exercise and yoga exercise affects in reducing dysmenorrhea on students of Smk Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batu. However, the final result shows that core strengthening exercise is giving more influence in reducing dysmenorrhea as compared to yoga exercise.
