  • White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) are considered to be able to replace the Tiger Shrimp population that decreased in 1992 due to the natural factors such as changes in the environment. To meet the demand, in 2001 Indonesia as one of countries who produce the shrimp began to grow White Shrimp. The survival and growth of the White Shrimp are two parameters of the success rate of the cultivation process. The process is strongly influenced by the frequency of skin change or moulting. Moulting stimulating hormone (MSH) contains ecdysterone that accelerates the moulting process, the ecdysterone content is not only present in the crustaceans, but is found in mulberry leaves. It is expected to make mulberry leaves as an alternative to enhance the growth and survival of the White Shrimp. The purpose of this study was to know and determine the percentage of the number of addition of mulberry leaves to the feed, the best for moulting percentage and the rate of growth of White Shrimp. This research was conducted on October 14 to October 28, 2017, at the Fisheries Laboratory of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The material used in this study is White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), from Sidayu, Gresik regency, East Java, with an average weight of 0.04 grams. Mulberry leaves used are from Pandanrejo Village, Batu., East Java. The extraction method used is the maceration method using ethanol solvent of 80% and a ratio of 1: 3. The feed used is commercial artificial feed, with 40% protein. The addition of extracts in the feed using the sprayer method. White Shrimp placed on aquarium size 40x30x35 cm, with a dense stocking of 20 fish / aquarium and water height 15 cm, for 15 days. Completely randomized design, 4 replications were performed by addition of mulberry leaf extract of feed with dose of 10 ml, 12,5 ml, 15 ml, 17,5 ml, 20 ml. During 15 days of maintenance, the moulting percentage was 41.25% - 55% and the growth rate was 4.73% - 7.33%. The result of ANOVA test showed that feed with addition of mulberry leaf extract had no significant effect (H0 received) on moulting percentage and shrimp growth rate.
