- Meso-scale combustor is the main component of Micro Power Generator (MPG) used for small-scale power generation. By using the heat generated by the flame and located in the fuel channel with the diameter of 1-10 mm. The problem of this study is the influence of evaporator tube with stainless material addition in meso-scale combustor tube on butane flame stability. The research scope encompasses the types of flammability limit, visualization, and temperature. Meso-scale combustor comprises quartz glass tube with inside diameter of 3.5 mm and outside diameter of 5 mm, in which evaporator tube and flame holder mesh with stainless steel material were attached. The flame attached in the mess with stainless steel material could be stabilized. The flammability-limit graph that formed had the lowest equivalent (Փ) ratio of 1.052552 and the highest equivalent (Փ) ratio between 1.248636 and 1.362149. The reactant velocity in meso-scale combustor tube reached 17.9 cm/s and the top speed reached 54 cm/s. The flame had dark gap causing unsymmetrical shape toward combustor axis. This dark gap indicated a richness of fuel mixture, and could indirectly cool the fuel so it could not reach its fire point.
