- In aircraft industry, production of airplane needs abundant of expensive material to build fuselage. PT Dirgantara Indonesia is one of aircraft industry that commonly used aluminum as fuselage material. This material selected as it has light weight and tough. Remnant of aluminum for airplane fuselage production would not be used and mostly is thrown away. As for the reminder of the aluminum formation results much to dissociate the remnants of aluminum which will later not be in used and discarded. Pressure test conducted to find out physical and mechanical properties through the influence of squeeze casting pressure to 2014 aluminum. The method used is a squeeze casting method in which aluminum is pressed into a mold with a certain temperature. Pressure variation allowed is 10, 20, 30, and 40 MPa with 420oC temperature. Physical and mechanical test included tensile test, hardness test, and metallography test to meet demand standard of airplane spare part production. Result shows that pressure variation influences material strength. The best material in 40 MPa pressure with tensile strength 176 Mpa and yield strenght 148.61 Mpa, hardness value has approximately 93,57 HB, and metallography with the most compact Al-Cu granule limit.
