  • Corrosion is main problem in marine vessel caused by high salinity of sea water. Protection to avoid it was conducted by coating the surface with paint. In the case of degradation, corrosion decrease paint adhesiveness as it is abrasive. Based on SSPC-Vis5, corrosion has 3 levels. Paint coating was conducted in light rusting to medium rusting corrosion level, while in medium to heavy rusting it is rarely conducted as it is concerned the paint would not be stick. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to test and to analyze the adhesiveness of paint toward corrosion in medium to heavy level. Method used in this research is experimental where it is conducted directly actual to the object. Result of tensile test at different flash rust can be concluded that the same material with the same treatment obtained the average of highest paint adhesiveness of 15,26 MPa. Meanwhile, the lowest is in heavy rusting material with adhesiveness of 5,1 MPa.
