- This study entitled the implementation of role play method type in teaching English speaking at VIIB class MTs Surya Buana Malang. This study aims to determine how the implementation of role play strategy as English speaking teaching technique is, and the teacher reason use role play technique. This research used descriptive qualitative research. Besides, the subject of this study are student seventh-grade VIIB class at MTs Surya Buana Malang academic year 2017/2018 consist of 30 students. Therefore, the instrumens were obeservation and interviuw. The results of study show that (1) the implementation of role play in teaching english speaking has done well in accordance with the procedures of role play (2) there are three strategies use by in English teacher to guide the students minimize their anxiety in learning such as: creating the relaxed situation in a learning process, practicing makes better, and giving students motivation.
