  • This research aims to describe nyethe tradition as public space, especially political public space in Tulungagung traditional coffee shop. This study uses political public space theory which is also supported by the context of communicative actions that include the concept of subjective world, objective world, and the social world or intersubjectivity. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. Sources of data used is through interviews conducted on 9 respondents or research subjects. Meanwhile, the subject of the study was determined by using incidental sampling technique. In addition, the data source is also supported by relevant documents, journals, and books with a research focus. Data collection techniques used observation, interview, and documentation. While the data analysis techniques use four stages that include the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the nyethe tradition can also be an alternative political space, because the themes discussed in the socio-political themes in Tulungagung are mainly related to the election of the regent of Tulungagung 2018. In the Nyethe tradition, the olitis public space also represent concept of the objective world, the subjective world , and the social or intersubjective world. Nyethe tradition also indicates the existence of equality between subjects during the discussion.
