- Kick Andy is a talk show program on Metro TV Hosted BY Andy F.Noya. This program becomes an effective choice in increasing knowledge and reading interest because it always shares free books for all audiences in the end of show. The aim of this program is to motivate the people to prefer reading activity. Exposure to Impressions Kick Andy on Metro TV is measured from the frequency, duration and intensity of respondents in watching this program on Metro TV. While, the interest of reading book is measured by AIDDA model which is meant as Attention, Interest, Desire, Decision, and Action respondents in reading books. The type of this research is explanative research with quantitative approach. The sample of this research is Communication Studies students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang, class of 2017, who are still active in college. Moreover, for those who have ever watched Kick Andy show on Metro TV are taken as the sample. This sample is chosen by using simple random sampling technique and data collection using questionnaire. The method of data analysis uses Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. From the result of the research, the researcher found that there is a positive and significant correlation between Kick Andy talk show exposure in Metro TV with the interest of reading books on students with correlation coefficient value of 0.588 and significance of 0.000. This result means that there is a strong positive correlation of 58.8% and significant between the exposure of Kick Andy impressions with the interest of reading books for students. If the exposure of Kick Andy impressions becomes higher, the interest of students in reading the book will also be higher. On the other hand, if the exposure of Kick Andy impressions to students becomes lower, the interest of reading books will be also lower.
